HDMI -> HDMI / DVI / mini HDMI

HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is the high-definition multimedia interface that allows digital audio and video data to be transferred using a single cable. Audio data can be both compressed and uncompressed, while video data transmitted via the HDMI interface is never compressed.

The HDMIs cable therefore represents the vehicle through which the digital signal is transferred from a source to a receiving device. The source can be a computer, a console (for example Xbox or PlayStation), a digital video camera, a DVD player, a satellite decoder, a Blu-Ray player or multimedia keys. The receiving unit is a screen with an HDMI port. So if you were wondering what the term "HDMI connection" meant, you should now have a little clearer ideas. Quite right?
