HDD-Quickport / Docking
The docking station is a platform to which a laptop can be connected. Typically it contains slots for expansion cards, bays for hard disks, connectors for peripherals such as monitors, printers, keyboards etc. Once inserted into the docking station, the laptop becomes a real desktop computer, with the possibility of using, for example, an extended keyboard, one or more monitors, a scanner, a printer and other peripherals. The idea was to mediate the portability of a notebook with the convenience of expanding a desktop computer. All this with a simple operation, without moving any cables or wasting time with the connectors. With the spread of tablets and smartphones, docking stations have been created specifically for these devices.
